Accreditation Card Printer
Event and Accreditation ID card Printers are unique in terms of the sized cards they can print on. The standard ID card printer commonly prints only CR80 (credit card) sized cards. Event and Accreditation ID card printers can print on oversized cards frequently used for event accreditation. These include the Extra Large Format (88mm x 124 - 140mm), CR100 (67mm x 99mm) and Extended (124 - 140mm x 54mm).
cards-x offers a wide range of Event card printers to enable our customers to find the right card printer for your event and visitor management.
Choosing an Accreditation Card Printer
Every event card printer cards-x stocks is different and ‘one-size’ certainly doesn’t fit all! We offer retransfer, direct to card and inkjet accreditation printers, as well as encoding options, to ensure our customers get the right printer for them.
Which accreditation card printer do I need for over size XL cards?
The CX ECP-XL event card printer can print ID plastic cards (88mm x 124-140mm). However, as is common with a number of oversized ID card printers for events, the print area is 54 x 86mm and single side.
Flexibility for oversized cards and the professional's choice for accreditation purposes.
The CX ECP-XL event card printer is both quiet and fast, printing up to 180 colour cards per hour and 1,400 monochrome printed id cards an hour.
XL Accreditation badges are commonly used for Staff, VIP´s and Seasonal passes in major sport or music events.
Which event card printer offers edge-to-edge printing for oversized ID cards?
The only edge-to-edge direct to card event card printer on the market that is suitable for oversized cards is the Zebra ZC10L.
Designed specifically for the hospitality market, Zebra's ZC10L is the only large-format, direct-to-card printer that can print full, edge-to-edge colour cards in one printing process. This makes the Zebra ZC10L perfect for producing custom, oversized badges suitable for sporting event and concert tickets/passes, special event and festival badges/passes on the spot in full colour—in one print pass.
It does need noting however that the Zebra ZC10L event card printer requires its own unique PVC cards which can be bought as part of a zebra media kit, or direct from cards-x.
Which accreditation card printer do I need for extended cards?
The CX ECP-XT event card printer can print extra-long ID plastic cards (54mm x 140mm). However, as is common with a number of oversized ID card printers for events, the print area is 54 x 86mm and single side. If you require dual side print the ID card will need a second pass through the ID card printer.
The CX ECP-XT event card printer is both quiet and fast, printing up to 180 full colour cards per hour and 1,400 monochrome printed id cards an hour.
Extended ID cards are commonly used as VIP badges for major sport or music events.
Can I get my event ID badges encoded on-site?
Many event and accreditation card printers offer encoding options as an extra; The Matica XID XL8300, CX ECP-XL, CX ECP-XT, CX ECP-CR100 and ArtisJet Proud Inkjet Printer.
Contactless encoding has the opportunity to enhance the visitor experience by creating access controls, the potential for contactless payments and visitor location data.
This tends to be a solution commonly used for complex events (festivals, large sporting occasions) and VIPs.
Do you have an event card printer that can print on other materials?
Direct-to-card (DTC) and Retransfer Event badge printers limit the type of material they can print on due to the heat involved during the print process. However, inkjet ID card printers offer much more flexibility when it comes to the event badge material, size, thickness and required print area.
The ArtisJet Proud ID Card Inkjet Printer can print on a range of materials including metal, wood and paper. However, the print time tends to take longer than using a DTC and retransfer event card printer.
Which event card printer offers the best quality print?
The Matica XID XL8300 is the only retransfer ID badge printer suitable for printing oversized ID plastic cards commonly used for event and accreditation management.
Delivering exceptional quality print the XID XL8300 is suitable for pre-printed cards 124mm x 85.6mm in size. Its print area is 106mm x 85mm, however this is split into two areas of 53mm x 85mm.
